At least I still have stuff to do in MH4U to tide me over. Somehow 500 hours in and there's still content I haven't seen.

@scoot I've found with the Monster Hunter games that I have played that if you get into them you're in it for the long term.
-
@northernnarwhal Absolutely. Thanks to the Low/High/G-Rank system, you effectively have to play through 3 difficulty settings with every monster to get to end-game, then they added some stuff post-game now too. I'm in the middle of completing G-Rank, where I'm sorta stuck
-
@scoot I didn't get that far into 4, but my brother's been doing a ton of G rank quests lately in MH4U and has put well over 1000 hours into the game.
-
@northernnarwhal Do you know what Hunter Rank he is? I'm HR 122 atm
-
@scoot I don't off the top of my head but I just sent him a text to ask.
-
@northernnarwhal Thank you, I'm just curious what HR 1000 hours will get you.
-
@scoot Just heard back from my brother, he's currently Hunter Rank 230
-
@northernnarwhal Huh, basically double mine. That makes sense. Thanks for finding out.
-
@scoot No prob. My brother is the biggest Monster Fan I've ever met so he's put a ton of time into several games in the series.
-
@northernnarwhal I wish I'd joined the series sooner, I've bought some of the older games now, but I feel like I would've loved this game on the PSP as a kid.
-
@scoot Tip from my brother to boost your rank is to hunt lots of Elder Dragons
-
@scoot My brother got into the series around the time Monster Hunter Tri came out on Wii because I got him that game for his birthday that year and he loved it so much that he went back and played some of the older ones and has played every new release since.
-
@northernnarwhal Easier said than done, I'm still stuck on G2 quests.
-
@northernnarwhal I've bought 3 Ultimate on Wii U, which is basically Tri with more stuff. I'm planning on playing that when I finish 4, so I have stuff to do while I wait for MHX
-
@scoot I've played 3 Ultimate but didn't sink as much time into it as Tri, though 3U basically irons out lots of Tri's bad design choices. 4U for me is the best in the series of the ones I've played though.
-
@northernnarwhal Absolutely, 4U is really easy to just jump into. I've been enjoying the English translated version of MH Portable 3rd on PSP, it's a pretty fun one and it's got a cool Unique monster, Amatsumagatsuchi
-
@scoot I have not played that one, but yeah one of 4U's biggest strengths is that it's able to trim lots of the fat of Monster Hunter's early game
-
@northernnarwhal Yeah, I think it's the most approachable of the lot. I was actually gonna do a short video about Monster Hunter and how easy it is to get into now, but I can't record my 3DS.
-
@scoot Now fans just have to wait forever for MHX. Although I have more than enough games to tide me over, the new Fire Emblem alone is eating up a ton of my free time.
-
@northernnarwhal I'll be playing the new FE when I have some money to spare, so probably not for a good while. Hopefully I'll get employed soon after I graduate and I'll be able to buy games again.
-
@scoot Yeah, I had money put aside for several months for the new Fire Emblem as I've been a fan of the series for a while now.
