    The whole "all is fair in love and war" idiom baffles me because it makes me wonder if the same people who use the phrase also condone forced marriage and genocide.

      @northernnarwhal genocide, as far as this planet is concerned, has almost never had a long impact in term of population/time, genocide is not an option to me, not kuz of ethics or moral, kuz idk or give batcave about those, but because it's only temporary, I'd personally go the N.Korea or China path, and dumb down the populace.
      as for forced marriage... you do know divorce is a thing right?
      there is no reason to go through all that work for it all just to be undone in a couple of days
