        @awl Fun fact (since you're currently watching Kino's Journey): The series director for Serial Experiments Lain, Ryūtarō Nakamura, was also the series director for Kino's Journey. The two shows are very different, but there are hints of his style throughout (cutting to shots of the sky, framing characters while lying down, etc.)

            @awl I should really rewatch Kino's Journey sometime soon, it's been a while since I last watched through it all and I need to remedy that. I think I might also like it a bit more than Serial Experiments Lain, but it'd be interesting to see how it holds up as my opinions on Lain are pretty fresh having recently rewatched it.

                @awl I'm glad I now own the series on Blu-Ray, it's a really rich show worth watching through more than once. I'm sure I'll revisit it again in the future too.
