        1. @critialcloudkicker @moonman It's a TV ad the left made to diss the two main candidates. The "father" is Carlos Menem, locally called "he who should not be named", president from 1989 to 1999, who basically sold the country's industry to USA and others. He's almost universally hated, but he was absolutely hilarious. The "sons" are Mauricio Macri (current president) and Daniel Scioli (main opponent back then) who were the former a bussinessman who profitted greatly in the 90s and the latter a politician who defended his presidency to death back then and for the elections accused the other of being a Menemist.

          1. @nerthos @critialcloudkicker You';re Argentina? Cool, a friend of mine lived there for three years and told me good things about the people that live there.

            1. @moonman Yeah. Nice! This place is really weird. People are extremely crafty both for good things and bad things. The country won't starve even if there were 50% unemployment as everyone figures out works to do, but at the same time local culture is obsessed with short term gain, and the worst part of society is crime-friendly, so at the same time the population keeps the country from becoming a world power which it could easily be if governed at least decently. We produce truckloads of great sciencists and engineers, but they go to other countries to work as they get better conditions. Work laws are amazing but people would rather abuse them than make industry bloom. I could go on like that for quite a while.

          2. @nerthos I thought you said he accussed the other of being a Memeist

            1. @redenchilada Well it's often spelled "memen" to avoid the bad luck associated with saying the name.

          3. @nerthos Ohh, it is an attack-ad. That makes WAY more sense. I'd almost pray for those things to be used in our elections though. it'd be hilarious to see I'd reckon. Too bad that becomes near impossible in our system because the people vote directly for one of the 18 parties.

            1. @critialcloudkicker I honestly hate the concept of attack ads as campaigns are basically a bunch of monkeys shouting at eachother instead of proposing things as they should, but those were so ridiculous I ended up loving them.

              1. @nerthos Attack ads can be both entertaining and it kinda gets the worst out of people before they get to be in any position of real power. You could call it hazing even. ... What if a candidate were to drop out of the race because of those attack ads ? If those were not in place he might fall away from the position in a way more critical juncture.

On the other side you do get more of a monkey Fluffle Pufffling competition. ... Which in turn could make more people interested in the whole ordeal... could...

                1. @critialcloudkicker I don't like the idea of an imbecile who bases his or her rise to power in insulting others to run a country, plain and simple. Positions of authority should be reserved for mature, no BS people.

I won't let you down! (infamous line he said in his campaign)
          It's about to come
I'm going to name him Mauricio!
          Another is coming!
This one I'm going to call little Daniel!

          Dad!
Scioli and Macri are Menem's sons...

          1. @nerthos Ah, I only understood the words "Push" "It is coming" "another ... coming" "my sons" "dad" and "october" ... Which made it look REALLY weird out of context
