@louis BSD or System V init?
-
GNU style init is named: shepherd, written in Guile http://www.gnu.org/software/shepherd/ and currently used by GNU operating system distribution named #GuixSD http://www.gnu.org/software/guix/ -- only that I am compiling myself whole system, by using instructions from Linux From Scratch and replacing the SysVInit with #shepherd

@louis I'm curious to see how it goes.

I have finished compiling whole system. Now I have full GNU From Scratch. Including IceCat browser and TeX still being installed. The system is as of now more stable than it was on Debian, because I have more control what I wish to run and what not. I developed everything on the single MMC card plugged in the computer.
In the next step, I will make a program to help people install GNU From Scratch, it will not be a "distribution". It will be simply GNU Support program to enable everyone to install their own #GNU operating system.
I will try to make the book as well, with translations in future, so that everything can be read from the first USB stick and built after that.
