@takemangoakenji hell yeah white

@cawlliflower Funny enough, I actually asked for maroon with ivory panels, but the painter got it backwards. Kind of reminds me of this old style. http://ur1.ca/otqa3

@takekiwiakenji definitely a fan of that style. A fan of white frames in general. I had to get my le Tour done in it even though it didn't come in that colour originally.

@cawlliflower Have any pictures?

@cawlliflower Lookin' good! Love the classic components on it.
-
@takekiwiakenji Thanks man! Most of what's on the bike is original but the bar tape saddle and pedals had to be replaced for being ~20 years old. One day I'll get proper decals for it too so it can advertise better.

@cawlliflower I don't know if you'd be interested, but here are some old catalog pages: http://ur1.ca/otqtu
-
@takeFrankerZakenji Oh I've gone through these to get ideas for what mine should look like, but thanks for the share; I'll be going through them again now!

@cawlliflower I'm really tired of the proliferation of black bikes and components. I'd rather have vibrant colors and silver parts. Some bikes look really great with gumwall tires, tan saddles, and tan bar wrap, too.
-
@takeappleakenji i saw a specialized model, don't know what one, dark green with tan bar wrap/saddle. More I see tan for contact surfaces the more I like it.

@cawlliflower I have this Surly Pacer that's decked out with some of it. http://ur1.ca/otqiq http://flic.kr/p/rcKoxn
There aren't any gumwall tires that are both high-performing and with useful puncture protection, which is why I have 'normal' tires on it. I'm also not a fan of the rings on that crank, but I can get better looking ones when they wear out.-
@takeFluffle Puffakenji I think normal tyres suit it better honestly. Hopefully Continental makes better for bicycles than autos, any auto tyre I've encountered by them has been rather cheap oem grade.

@cawlliflower They aren't the only company to do both, either. Those that do tend to focus on one over the other.
-
@takekiwiakenji Oh yeah I've seen Michelin bike tyres, amongst others. Sad to say I know more about autos in general than bikes but I'm learning.

@cawlliflower Michelin's bike tires tend to be for racing and are a bit fragile, yet high-performing.
-
@takegrapeakenji Much akin to their auto tyres, although they wax the hell out of the rubber to make them look nicer for longer.
