    1. @delores @zemichi Nothing bad with carrying a bladed weapon, but don't be so pathetic and edgy.

      1. @nerthos @zemichi carrying anything bladed besides a pocket knife is unnecessary unless your wizard accidentally casted time magic on you

        1. @delores I personally consider swords (specially short and dressing swords) really good self defense weapons unless everyone is packing guns. At that point just get a .22 with a 17-20 round clip.

          1. @nerthos only in close combat where both people involved have close combat weapons. if you're facing somebody with a gun, disarm them. if they have a blade and you don't, disarm them. you would never need to use a sword, especially when swords have to be trained for years to be usable and knives do not

            1. @delores They still have a better reach and deal more damage than a knife if you don't mind going through the training. If you want something non-lethal, just carry a telescopic baton.

              1. @nerthos reach only matters if the guy you're against is fighting back. yeah a long sword could defeat a knife in a fight if you used it well. but its easier for a guy with no weapon to throw you off balance and then pin you and take the sword

plus swords are really skirting the law. knives get by because they're a genuine utility. swords not so much

                1. @delores Law is always the downside. Only reason why I don't get a dressing sword and a gun and settle for a spring action folding knife.
