Conflicted as to whether or not Yo-Kai Watch is worth buying, any opinions here?
-
@tiffany Looks like an "open" world game with CG-style storyline and minigames across the board with what I am pretty sure is a modified pokemon X engine, if it is modified at all. It does not appeal to me, has some pretty meh till 'itsohkay' reviews across the board ( so from a 5.5 all the way till 7.5 ). But I am pretty sure that if you really enjoy the genre you'll really like it.

@critialcloudkicker I like the genre, I like how it looks (minus the monsters which look like wannabe Dragon Quest to me), I like how it sounds, but I don't like the battle system so I'm really ambivalent
-
@tiffany I learned a new word today, I like 5 dollar words.
And I am pretty sure that the battle system makes up for at least 40% of all the "intense" moments in the game, so by that regard alone I would dismiss it as a "I'll go watch a letsplay of it instead".
Oh wait, Nintendo...
Well, is there a demo out there at least ? -
@critialcloudkicker Yeah, I just played the demo which lasts like 45 minutes or so if you take your time
-
@tiffany Well, at least there is a demo this time :) ... I'd recommend for it to drop in price if you played the demo and it did not convince you.
-
@critialcloudkicker perhaps. If Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 doesn't get a western release I'll be so sad that I'll play Yo-Kai in an attempt to fill the void in my heart
-
@tiffany Meh, a chocolate cake the size of your head and a gym membership are probably more progressive than filling up holes left by other games with other games. Kinda like getting your hands on Doom ( 2016 ) because you finally played all the way through Mass Effect 3 and it left a void... ... ... I am still on Mass Effect 1, so there is still time for me :)
