It was so bizarre. The first week, I knew they considered me slow but they were okay with letting me stay on. I don't know what it was that I did wrong... because in the middle of the next week I was out.-
@sim @harmlessgryphon @miahandmaiden You did nothing wrong. That's how they "RIGGED" it. So they don't have to compensate you, say for severance pay .. Etc Etc. You are essentially a slave. They work people to death for the required minimum. And then fire them, And then "re-hire" somebody else. It's a Potato Knishesing scam.

You have a lot of contracts like this... they outsource finding employment to these companies you have to go through. If you do a good job, some may decide to hire you themselves though. Which is what happened to one of my ex-co-workers at a different company. Clearly this one was Potato Knishes and has bad practice. I also wonder if this is how the figures can be tricked. At first, I thought if our branch did well... we would get extra pay too. I mean, why tell it to me if it didn't apply to me? I asked the person assigned to me, and apparently not. Smh. -
@sim I'm really sorry that you got a really grapety deal.
-
@pennyfortheguy
Me too. It's also sad... because if speed wasn't an issue for any of these companies, I'd be a model employee. I loved working. -
@sim Yes. I get that about you. IE You're a hard worker. The problem being, that they just don't give a kiwi about people, and their feelings. Why should they, when they have a myriad of potential victims to exploit.
-
@pennyfortheguy
Yep. Once I'm committed... I will go above and beyond... within my capabilities. I even wished I could be speedy, but whatever I did... it didn't work. That is true... there are plenty of people out there who have what I lack, and what they seek. -
@sim You should try becoming an artisan. Woodworking, metalworkind, sculpting, any of that, where speed isn't important but dedication and detail are.

Yep. I was prepared to go through the bot accounts before, and delete them individually. But there was a bit too much at 15k... and it was more efficient to do what fl0wn did. Even if that wasn't the case, I would have gone through them myself. I don't have a whole lot to do so it was the least I could do. Sometimes I want more to do here, but at the time I am glad that I don't because less moderation means that we're pro-free speech and that people aren't breaking the main rule.
Cheers... I smiled at the thought. Although I don't know what I did to deserve it. ;) -
@sim Modest too huh. Now I know why I just plain applein luv ya. ;-)

@pennyfortheguy
Very. Although I like being able to admit my own qualities... I don't want to downplay myself too much. At the same time, I don't want to over-inflate my ego on falsities. What I want for myself could be seen as cocky though... if people don't know the qualities that I want to be confident and honest about. -
@pennyfortheguy
I'll respond when I can... gonna be in and out for a while. -
@pennyfortheguy @hope
Cheers. But I did have to work a lot on myself... I made a lot of changes. As for moderating, I sort of stumbled across that. I made a joke to hope. I asked her what I should do because people were mistaking me for being a moderator since I decided to help people understand SLC more. I wanted to be able to provide a space for the questions that people were commonly asking at the time. So I started a list I would post out when I heard those questions being asked. -
@pennyfortheguy @hope
What would you say all the right qualities for being a moderator are? -
@pennyfortheguy @hope
Hmm... I don't know about people skills. But I do have a decent patience.
