    You know, Independence Day is great and everything. But, uh, I don't really celebrate zealously or even casually despite having been born and living in America. I'm not very patriotic for a variety of reasons, though I am thankful at times to live here rather than some other places in the world. =\

        @toksyuryel Yeah, those are annoying. They were great when I was a kid, but now it's more like "Woopdie-frickin'-do." And to think that the Chinese invented fireworks long before the US was even a nation.

              @toksyuryel XD That happens to me sometimes too. Nah, I do hate the sound though. But it's more that it doesn't feel like a spectacle anymore to me. And you have a point with the impact they have on the environment.
