@toksyuryel Oh? Let's fight in Fighting is Magic when it comes out.

@redenchilada It won't be available for my platform of choice, so that's not happening.

@toksyuryel WINE?
Sunday, 08-Jul-12 04:29:18 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Very unreliable.

@toksyuryel It'll probably work for FiM, though. You're looking at a bread-and-butter (look ma, I'm learning competitive fighting game terms) 2D fighter, not anything fancy.

@redenchilada WINE is unreliable in the manner that often the most basic stuff doesn't work while something more complex does work. Their development process works by having the users vote for what software they want to see supported, and then they focus on making that software work as well as they can. This is why Final Fantasy XI has the best support- for some reason, it's what the majority of WINE users vote for.

@toksyuryel lol FFXI.
Sunday, 08-Jul-12 04:35:40 UTC from web-
@redenchilada It's apparently very popular with WINE users!

@toksyuryel While they've said they won't provide full support for it, there are plans to have Mac/Linux downloads, with a wrapper layer of some sort (something Wine-based seems likely), so it's at least something they're putting some thought toward. Maybe it still won't work out, but I wouldn't count it out just yet.

@wafers He won his match iirc. Not paying _too_ close attention, though.
