@ablomb I'll buy into the "G/S was best", so long as I'm allowed to include the remakes, which were, IMO, the most complete and best executed pokemon titles of all time.

@ablomb Just basically G/S with nicer graphics, but with the revised physical/special split and more complex breeding mechanics from the later generations. They even included a button to switch back to the old chiptunes instead of the DS remasters. It is essentially G/S infused with the modern metagame.

@mrconventrix My DS classic was the first portable I bought for myself. You can probably get a DS classic for like $60 now. It's worth doing. You're gonna need something to pass the time when they baby is keeping you up all night.

@ablomb I prefer the complexity of the more recent games. I guess I just feel more...connected to the game when I can't just storm the entire thing with my monstrous starter pokemon. Also: The games anti-piracy measure is designed to crash the game periodically when it detects it's not playing on legit hardware. There was a patch whereby you switched the cartridge kernel out with platinums or something, butit was genuinely less hassle to buy the damn thing.

@ablomb It crashes R4's and emulators by introducing a random chance that it'll hang when you go through a door. Since the game and platinum share the same engine, someone developed some crazy method of separating the game engine from the assets, and importing the assets into platinum, which doesn't have the antipiracy measures.

@mrconventrix Does the Vita actually have any games? I've thought on and off about getting one, but after sony banned me from PSN and deleted all my downloaded PSP titles I've been kinda hesitant to give them any more of my money.
