    I'm slowly migrating away from # towards !Gajim as my preferred !XMPP client. But Pidgin was my # client too - anyone have suggestions? I've used #, and found it impossible.

      @bobjonkman what do you find impossible about #? There may be more now but for years it was the *only* (desktop) IRC client that actually implemented all the standards. I've been using it for many, many years, both on Windows and on Linux. (I found # did not even come close.)

      @bobjonkman Any client + the bouncer 'znc'. Or, my preferred solution, screen/dtach + irssi. Some prefer weechat over irssi.
