            @scribble And another cultural difference I had no idea it existed. I even can go to courses which have nothing to do with what I study or what I know. I even did that once :)

              @hakupony Usually those classes are more like mentorships or internships. A couple times I was allowed to enter classes that were only reserved for other major students because I asked nicely and convinced the teacher to let me in. Other times I've gone to a class without even being enrolled in it with the teacher's permission.

                @pony Basically, we have two kinds of Courses: Vorlesungen and Seminare. If more people as there is room apply to a seminar, they let luck decite. The problem is that many people visit their courses in the first two weeks and just don't appear anymore. So it sometimes is ossible, to get into courses later.
