@shpuld the funny thing is that he's doing quite well for himself - certainly earns more in IT than mum (highly qualified over the years of constantly working for it) ever did.

@roka Lucky. My workplace is really lazy with the various forms (W-2, 1099-whatever, and so on). My investment bank JUST made THEIR forms available electronically.

@takebananaakenji if workplace can't prove they sent their part of the forms to you on time, they are fined heavily and you have only minimal problems with the taxman (in the sense you have to personally talk with them several times and sometimes send letters). it's still up to you to do bullbatcave calculations, fill the damn things and submit them.
in fact, everyone in the family tends to dump the calculation and filling part on an aunt who's rather good at it. everyone except me - i don't like having others do my things.-
@roka I file using one of those paid services because my return is pretty simple.
It's not April yet, so they're not late.
