  1. Apparently someone's made a 6500 mAh battery for the G4. https://gs.archae.me/url/60564

    1. @archaeme That's not a G4. http://u.daggsy.com/11N

      2. @takepapayaakenji @archaeme Remember when people thought tiny keyboards like that were a good idea?

          1. @takebananaakenji @archaeme I remember more than a few netbooks that basically came with a dialing wand because normal typing just didn't work.

            1. @maiyannah @takebatcaveakenji netbooks were a terrible idea period.  Crappy Atom processors, cherryty trackpad, low-res screens.

              1. @archaeme @takebananaakenji That was before Intel really sorted the Atom processors, too.  They're much better now, but Intel missed that boat.

              2. @archaeme @maiyannah They probably came too soon.  If they had specs and OSes like today's tablets, they might've fared better.

Of course, most folks don't care about real keyboards for media consumption anymore.

              3. @archaeme @maiyannah I used a netbook for quite a while and still have it, albeit the keyboard doesn't work (not mechanically broken, but the thing's sealed so I can't clean the fungi or whatever that developed in the contacts due to humidity) and it was fairly good for it's use. People just have to remember that they aren't laptops, they're ultra portable computers to use on treks or at work. They excel at that, specially in workshop work where there's limited space but you have to look up blueprints and the like. I could type on it just fine.

                1. @nerthos @archaeme Tablets with attached keyboards are basically the modern equivalent of the same thing these days, though the processors are much stronger these days be they ARM or Intel either.

                  1. @maiyannah Back then tablets were still just starting being a thing. I got a netbook in early 2011 and it's specs were much better than most tablets. Plus unlike tablets it ran winxp which was a huge plus.

    2. @archaeme If I tape 4 batteries together I can make a 12000 mAh battery for my j7
