Uuugh, I can't art.
Sunday, 22-Jul-12 17:50:30 UTC from web-
@retl You and me both.
-
@retl I could just draw some sh***y "art" and fancytalk until somepony aknowledged it as such. But for that, I am too proud. If my work is bad, I destroy it. I would be a terrible father...
-
@hakupony The problem with destroying not-so-great art rather than archiving is that it gets way harder to show others what to not do, or what you personally don't like, and it also becomes really hard to demonstrate growth/development of skills over time VS fluke victories.
-
@retl My problem is that I hate every one of my attempts of art and am disgusted by the fact how bad I am. There is no progress because I stop after a few lines. For months.
-
@hakupony Ah, gotcha. The only solution is to go more niche!
-
@retl And how would that help me?
-
@hakupony Be cause the niche will be so niche-y, that in comparison to the non-existence of everything else, you'll be GODLY. (Until more people see the niche and start addressing it. In which case you'll be praised for giving people a hook into what they never knew they wanted. :D)
-
@retl The problem is that I don't want to raise any praise. Of course I would be happy if people enjoyed my art but if it weren't up to what I wanted it to look like, I would still hate it when everypony praised it.
-
@hakupony People do what they do.
