  1. Well I learned the hard way that my bike can't fit 700x32s. The aspect ratio is too high.

    1. Well my local shop bought the tyres for $35 over the $64 I paid for them; not bad at all I'd say.

      1. @awl What's wrong with the tires?

        1. @takeFluffle Puffakenji the 32s were too tall. Hit the fork crown and the crossbar on the rear. I already ordered 28s from Compass. I hope they get here before my short-tour on 17 July.

          1. @awl Compass tires are pretty awesome. I think you'll like them.

I was tired of how easily they punctured and cut after riding thew for a few months.

            1. @takekiwiakenji oh really? I was using Panaracers before and they didn't give me any problems despite my under-inflation and riding through some sketchy stuff. I saw on Compass's site that they get designs by them, so I figured not all that bad. Plus I want my tan walls still.

              1. @awl The Compass tires use thinner threads but still a fairly low TPI to be so supple. If you're not careful about debris, you might have to patch tubes more often than you like.

I went as far as slime in the tubes to reduce that, but even slime can only do so much. I'm fine being slower overall, since I'll stay warm on a cold day that way.

                1. @takeFluffle Puffakenji Eh I can afford to be careful and likely I'll automatically be when under load. Panaracers I found were really good for wet traction; these don't like they'll be as good. I'll adjust accordingly.

                  1. @awl Compass tires are actually really good for sticking to wet roads. You won't be disappointed there.

                    1. @takegrapeakenji Oh good. That's kind of a necessity in Minnesota I think unless you want to commit to 4 months/years worth of 'good' riding.
