  1. Hero Brinkman (some Dutch politician) wants to disallow companies to fire employees for the coming two years to combat the economical crisis. This is wrong on so many levels, I have no words for this.

      1. @derpyshy I fail to understand how the economy will improve if we give people a reward for doing absolutely nothing at their jobs instead of working hard.

        1. @omni Well, there would have to be advantages by working hard, and disadvantages by not doing anything, of course, but the idea seems really unsuccessful... but maybe that guy thought about more comex things :x

                1. @derpyshy I've had some years of Economy and Company Management lessons in my school, but I don't think you need longer than a week to understand that preventing people from getting fired is a completely insane idea.

                  1. @omni I know the idea sounds extremely insufficiant, but I have feeling that in a longer period, it could be for the better. But I don't know x3 I wouldn't use this thing in my country, if I had one.

                    1. @derpyshy Okay, this is the result of it: companies will have to hold on to their bad employees, and won't hire new, better employees. The bad employees will be inefficient, and possibly cost the company more than profit them. However, the company doesn't make enough profit to hire more people, so won't, therefore getting closer to bankruptcy as the bad companies keeps tearing the companies down. In the end: nobody wins, we all lose.

                      2. @omni If they can't fire bad workers, just send them to the MOOOON!

                        1. @derpyshy That's the thing, they can't unless they can show they're in a very big crisis. And, contrary to what most people think, companies don't fire good employees to save money, as they are hard to get buy. Companies will try to hold on to those as long as possible, to ensure being able to compete well once the economy improves again.
