There seems to be some weird war on Centrists with various political factions these days. It's like their assumption of Centrism is "I'm 100% right, they're 100% wrong, therefore Centrists are 50% wrong" which is not how politics or anything like that works.
I find that line of thinking very dangerous because it means people can justify doing all sorts of actions by saying they're doing it for a "100% good cause", which is how many historical atrocities happened.-
@gameragodzilla Moderates are always the most hated in a time of extremism, for they make enemies of both extremes.

Hence why I can simultaneously be a White Supremacist and an agent of White Genocide at the same time.

@gameragodzilla But that's the whole point of the current situation. The extremist factions of both sides are doing all they can to escalate it. Centrists are attacked because 1) the goons are too dumb to do anything else but attack anyone who disagrees and 2) the ideologues recognize moderation is a threat to their goals as it could wake up their goons.

@nerthos Pretty much. It's even filtered into the elites, with Owen Jones saying "centrists are the real extremists" or some dumb banana like that.

@gameragodzilla I have no idea who Owen Jones is, but both sides will do all they can to ruin the reputation of centrists.
