  1. @wxcafe I said that I wanted to replace GS with better software since pretty much day 1. The progression of outrage on their side of the pond is hilarious

    1. @wxcafe I mean like what's the point of creating an alternative implementation from scratch, if you don't believe it's better, and if you believe it's better, in what world do you not want it to dominate?

      1. @gargron Sometimes you want to make something different but not better. Like if I make a new recipe for cake doesn't mean

        1. @gargron you want to destroy all previous cake recipes. Anyway I'm not personally upset at you but I definitely am happy with GNU social.

          1. @taknamay Yeah but I'm not trying to destroy GNU social lol I just want my cake recipe to be better and therefore more popular

            1. @gargron yeah idk how this will all work out in the end but I feel like people are overreacting

            2. @gargron You don't destroy GnuSocial but you are destroying the idea of a federated network. A federation works only with partners and with compromises - if someone of the partner looks only for own goals federation can't work.

I just lost several mastodon accounts which I can't read any more. If you think this is really "a better" solution - I don't agree. @taknamay

    2. I mean, is there anyone "on our side of the pond"? I thought the GS devs were hibernating...
