I've surrounded myself so much with people who care so strongly about privacy and freedom from government and corporate control.

My usual default response, is that most people appreciate Freedom of Speech, and support it, even if they've nothing to say. Thus, they should support the right of privacy in equal respect, even if they feel they've nothing to hide. -
Now that I've had time to digest our conversation, I think a big part of my hesitation was a desire not to be frank about politics at work.

We are pretty comfortable with each other but some discussions probably shouldn't enter the workplace, even at lunchtime.
