  1. My superpower would be the ability to control time because there are seriously not enough hours in the day geez.

    1. @redenchilada I'm disappointed. There's no mention of dancey games.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:28:13 UTC from web
      1. @nerthos I don't need superpowers to play dancey games.

        1. @redenchilada Playing dancey games IS your superpower.

        2. @redenchilada But think of the possibilities. Turning the battlefield into a big dancey game.

    2. @redenchilada I've heard lucid dreaming can help with this, allowing you to perform certain kinds of work (particularly notable is programming) while asleep.

      1. @toksyuryel Yeah but I don't have enough time to learn that and get use out of it before the convention happens. :(

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:32:58 UTC from StatusNet Android
      2. @toksyuryel i believe you have lucid dreaming confused with something else.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:38:23 UTC from MuSTArDroid
        1. @abigpony No. Actually that is lucid dreaming, if you want. You could learn math or whatever if you wanted too.

          1. @firestormdangerdash lucid dreaming is to become aware of and take control of your dreams on a subconscious level. It doesn't really effect you outside of your thoughts.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:42:19 UTC from MuSTArDroid
            1. @abigpony Exatcly. Thoughts are everything. So you could work on building an engine if you at least looked on a "engine guide book" because you are tapped into you subconsciousness as well so even glimpses of something are now knowable. Studying would be cake.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:45:05 UTC from web
              1. @firestormdangerdash No, you could work on existing knowledge, or apply what you already know, but not create new knowledge, not without creating useless knowledge tied to the laws of your own dream. Learning from scratch on dreams would fall more into prophetic dreaming than lucid dreaming; which is a thing that exists and allows you to know things you aren't supposed to know.

                1. @nerthos "exsting knowledge" Exatcly my dear watson. That is why I said "looked at a engine guide book" so you know the basics. Even glimpsing something means its in your head subconsciously. And you can tap into it easierly when lucid dreaming.

                  1. @firestormdangerdash You didn't specify if the book existed inside or outside of the dream.

                    1. @nerthos It's okay. #

                  2. @firestormdangerdash lucod dreaming scratches the surface. If it worked like that, we'd all be Rain Men.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:56:09 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                    1. @abigpony Sure. # But the issue is not many people know about lucid dreaming. Less even try and even far less CAN lucid dream. I been trying for 12 years. I cant even remember my normal dreams, let alone waking up in one.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:58:07 UTC from web
                      1. @firestormdangerdash I didn't have much problem getting to lucid dream as i did it for a year or two many years ago. Sure, it was fun and stuff, but you might as well stay awake.

                        1. @abigpony Wake.... Fly? No... Life is boring? yes... Work when awake? Yes... Ponies? No... Travel often when awake? No...

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:02:52 UTC from web
                          1. @firestormdangerdash deal with it. Life is boring. Life sucks. If it wasn't, we would only have the left side of our brains.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:04:16 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                            1. @abigpony And so we have brains, that can dream.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:06:22 UTC from web
              2. @firestormdangerdash lucid dreaming is pretty much world building. It's comparable to Garry's Mod. You take things, you take control of them make things play as you like, but in terms of allowing real life application through it, it does next to nothing. If you heard you could do all your homework while you are asleep, what kid WOULDN'T do it? Who WOULDN't get a night job?

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:49:18 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                1. @abigpony You can think and rationalize your homework inside of your dreams if you remember it, but then it's all a matter of luck, remembering what you did once you wake up and writing it down.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:50:38 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos well you remember lucid dreams most of the time. It's part of the reason people learn it. The thing is that it's using a small part of your brain to materialize thoughts. Unless pretty much programmed through life to do so, you can't practice the sciences oarticularly through lucid dreams. Common sense takes alot of play in them.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:55:24 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                2. @abigpony It does have it's real world applications, but just more subtle. It's not like you robbed a bank and money would be next to you when you woke up. But it can do things like. . . make your mind faster if you, idk, study numbers and hard puzzles well dreaming. Things like that. Even to a VERY limted extent of "learning kungfu" since you could technically learn the techniques properly well dreaming but obviously then you would need to train your body to learn it to when you are awake.

                  1. @firestormdangerdash you can elaborate and practice knowledge you have already, but in terms of serious development, i'd say it's rare.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:57:11 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                  2. @firestormdangerdash The main problem is that if you strain your brain whilst you're sleeping and it should be taking a break, you'll shorten your lifespan.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 11:57:29 UTC from web
                    1. @nerthos Correct, if dreaming strained it. it don't you learn well you rcover basiclly. Thats the point of dreaming. if you didnt dream you would seriously be crippled IRL mentally. So being lucid in a dream changes nothing in the recovery state.

                      1. @firestormdangerdash Dreams are supposed to be for relaxation...

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:00:31 UTC from web
                        1. @nerthos Yes. So being relaxed well lucid changes?...

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:01:19 UTC from web
                          1. @firestormdangerdash You can't design stuff and relax at the same time.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:03:02 UTC from web
                            1. @nerthos Yes you can. Lol. Your brain does it all the time! Sleeping (and dreaming) is so your brain has time to take everything you learned and "catalog" it all. All your doing is "playing" in the "learning zone" or at least playing in the "cataloging station" when you dream. But with no worry of messing up the cataloging system

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:05:57 UTC from web
                    2. @nerthos Actually, when you are asleep is when your brain is in its most active state (which is why sleeping burns so many calories). You literally *can't* strain it while you're asleep.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:12:26 UTC from web
                      1. @toksyuryel @nerthos Yes well that too. You also get taller when you sleep.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:13:49 UTC from web
                3. @abigpony It works for programming because 90% of coding is just figuring out HOW to do something. You can solve the problem in your sleep then write the code for it after you wake up.

Tuesday, 28-Aug-12 12:03:40 UTC from web
        2. @abigpony I would prefer flying. With ponies. And ice cream.
