@pony Spikelight? Oh dear. Hmm, I should totally abuse symlinks. Make a pony folder in a pony folder which links back to the pony folder.

@omni My solution to category redundancy is to keep them all in one flat folder, but TAG EVERYTHING. Which reminds me, I need to get back to working on my filesystem-based tagging tool, since running an entire web server to put my images in a *booru-clone seems a little overengineered.

@omni Do you know of a way to not arrange data in folders but sort them on tags on your HD?

@hakupony As far as I'm aware, the KDE tool Akonadi can sort things with tags. I'm not sure how one would go about that, though. Also, there are probably better ways.

@omni yeah. I don't separate my shipping pics from my non-shipped pairs, so it's mostly full of the 2 doing completely platonic things :3 http://ur1.ca/a1x1m

@bitshift most are just adorable pics.. in fact I think I lack any proper shipping pics of the two, unless this counts. http://ur1.ca/a1x2d

@mostapplethingofall Depends on choice of filesystem, really. (Plus, there's nothing that stops me from splitting them into semi-arbitrary folders to solve that, while still having tags searchable over the whole tree.)

@mostapplethingofall Yeah, FAT and NTFS both have serious problems with certain semi-common cases, that one included.
