    @harmlessgryphon I don't think it's hardware incompatibility in this case. Cant be an USB3 issue b/c it's a non-USB3 early 2011 #

      @harmlessgryphon before the failed update it just didn't print although it behaved as if it worked,as if th output were redirected to a file

        @harmlessgryphon too bad the Macbook & printer are now several hundred kilometres away and there's no other known-to-work printer there.

          @harmlessgryphon @zorak Seems my "chown -R root:wheel ...ClassicNotSeize.kext" AND reboot have solved the printing problem :-) Shaka! :-)
