              @gentlegiant but it goes to show how delicate the wings are in comparison to a pegasi's wings. sunlight isn't that hard to come by. especially when you are flying above the clouds.

                @nutterguy again, true but its made out of dew, that itslef isn't enough to lift a pony, but it happened. Also Twi directly told Rarity not to fly too high, ever heard of that Greek Mythology story?

                    @nutterguy Twilight said that the wings were delicate and not to fly too close to the sun. the Greek story is: Icaruswas jailed and attempted to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax. He and his son were imprisoned at the hands of King Minos. when they escaped he said to his son not to fly too high or the wings will melt. his son did not listen , flew too high, the wings melt and he falls to his death.
