   Just had my first persimmon. It’s pretty neat; like the taste of a very mild pear but the texture of a not ripe peach. I like it. Certainly a branch out of last week’s tangerines

     @awl btw I assume the name Persimmon, like Persipan or (German:) Pfirsich (Prunus persica) comes from "Persia".

     @mcscx I guess in English it comes from an American language meaning dry fruit? I never knew of these fruits before but thought it was Greek for something, not from the word for Persia.
