@hoit21 India has mendicant monks that basically just meditate and help the community they live in. I don't know much about it really, but the idea appealed to me.

@blots Oh! that makes more sense to me. I don't know how Hindu monks classify themselve though.. whether as a frat or whatever. I think they lodge with the community, not in one single place, though I'm really not sure.
