@pony I love Pie****. Pie**** is my favorite.
-
@abigpony listening again.. having a hard time decifering that xD
-
@abigpony Aw man. It's obviously a lyric.
-
@abigpony xP I don't know which part that is. you can always avoid the filters
-
@pony The very beginning. How would one avoid the filters because I would like them off.
-
@abigpony space the words is one. Use numbers is another, I guess.
-
@firestormdangerdash What do I look like? a 12 year old? Is there a way to turn the censorship off? Like an option somewhere?
-
@abigpony yeah spaces, character swaps, and also there's using tags in the middle like "bl[ i][ /i]ah"
-
@abigpony well. Yes. Yes you do. *snicker*
-
@pony I'm looking for a decent way.
-
@abigpony nope.. there's been talk about that, but it sounds like it would be tricky to implement.. on SBN @greydragon412 suggested that instead of censoring the words, the server encode and tag them and then have an option in mint/rdnrefresh to auto-decode them
-
@firestormdangerdash nice, nice http://ur1.ca/a62kd
-
@abigpony I really like that picture. I want to know who that guy is!
-
@firestormdangerdash cursing hardly ever happens anyway, but an option would be, like, really nice. It's SO annoying to see myself censored like such.
-
@firestormdangerdash it's egoraptor
-
@abigpony well dont do any cencering then. I mean, if you dont swear much where is the problem?
-
@pony Well SBN can do what they want and they are also not as advanced as here. RDN is the future.
-
@kaijen1 isnt egoraptor a meme of a raptor?
-
@firestormdangerdash nah, that's 'Philosoraptor'
-
@firestormdangerdash well I don't see a problem with it occasionally, but I didn't even curse this time, not to mention it was a lyric I believed to have had heard.
-
@abigpony mhmm.. the only reason that grey suggested it on SBN is cuz he's not currently posting on RDN. He meant it for here of course.
-
-
@abigpony Why does it seem like you're trying to insult a site I set up just for the purpose of testing things? :p
-
@abigpony well some scraficing happens. Nothing is perfect. In this case s p a c I n g wouldnt be a huge pain for one or two words. Since cencering shouldnt happen accidently, often.
-
@abigpony some of the words being censored are uncensored by widget like "cumulus". dunno if he's gotten around to "shatter" yet though.
-
@pony Wait, why isn't he posting here anymore?
-
@kaijen1 ohh
-
@pony yey :)
-
@abigpony He objects to being censored. :3
-
@firestormdangerdash yeah haha :P
-
@abigpony @firestormdangerdash If there's any false positives, report them to @widget. The stuff that's blocked isn't set in stone. It's not perfect right now but we're trying. ;p
-
@pony wait, what? cumulus like the cloud? andshatter like glass?
-
@pony Oh. That's understandable. It's infuriating as all hell.
-
@pony for "c um" and "shat"?
-
@minti see this is why your cool. Or is it hot? Maybe lukewarm...
-
@minti SBN makes me so happy ^_^
-
@abigpony Is it infuriating because you don't like being censored, or is it because it's overzelous? 'cause one can be fixed and the other can't.
-
@abigpony it really isnt...
-
@abigpony **** and shat. yep precisely
-
@minti I wasn't even insulting it this time, I'm just stating that you don't have all the shiny new doohickies this place does now. When I have in the past it's because most of the cool users go there now. In terms of your construction of the site, it's fine and it's it's own separate thing.
-
@pony why shat?
-
@ceruleanspark probably a fine mix of the two
-
@abigpony although now "shat" is no longer censored at all it seems. It's the past tense of ****
-
@ceruleanspark not sure what you said but im assuming it was awesome! /)
-
@abigpony Actually, SBN is based off of RDN's codebase now. So they're basically a clone (except SBN has the shiny new theme @redenchilada is working on.) :p
-
@abigpony The issue is that giving users a choice about whether or not to view obscenity requires keeping the uncensored version of each post in the database. Then, for users with the filter turned on, it has to compare every post against the entire wordlist before displaying it. This is slow as balls.
-
@minti and I really like dat rainbowness to it.
-
@ceruleanspark @minti Is there any reason something like this couldn't be implemented? http://rainbowdash.net/notice/1903148
-
@minti Where's the testing?
-
@ceruleanspark I see. Putting it like that makes alot of sense. Hmm... how about spoiler system or something. a hover-over or something. I know that stuff's pretty easy to do.
-
@pony teehee
-
@abigpony Background stuff. I'm actually working on improvements and periodically blowing up the site as I type this! :D
-
@abigpony xD
-
@minti Whatever. It's competition. Like the China to our America. I'm watching you. http://ur1.ca/a62v5
-
@pony Also, curse you for reminding me of that Pinkie Quartet thing. I can't stop listening to it.
-
@pony I'm not giving credit where credit may or may not be due. America.
-
@pony no no, it was all you. You and that army of magic mutant rats.
-
@pony Oh, it is faster :3
-
@cavatina you too. :ooo ¿¿??
-
-
@pony lol nice pic
-
@firestormdangerdash If by army of magic mutant rats you mean @minti (and I think Red), then yes! lol*
-
@cavatina definitely :3
-
@kaijen1 :)
-
@pony :)
-
@abigpony That's all done in Javascript, so wouldn't work in anything but the browser. It'd also be, if anything even slower, though the slowness and resource usage would all be on the user end, rather than the server.
-
@ceruleanspark Wow he's back again? That didn't last long.
-
@pony It'd still need to check for the tag all the time, every time.
-
