@ceruleanspark lets face it, it was. Nothing was changed, for example, look at any cliff edge, its a 90degree wall, with a load of green fuzz put on all the edges to give an illusion of vegetation to disguise it

@purplephish20 There is a world of difference between a "Simple retexture" and "integrating the entire graphics engine from a later title".
-
@ceruleanspark Exactly, which is what I actually expected 343 would do when anniversary was first announced
-
@purplephish20 That's what 343 /did/. A retexture doesn't give you any of the enhanced shading, lighting, particle or water effects that anniversary has.
-
@ceruleanspark let me simplify, I expected the game and story of halo combat evolved, with the entire gameplay engine of halo reach
-
@purplephish20 The gameplay engine would introduce gameplay that wasnt in the original. Unless they removed that, which kinda defeats the point.
-
@purplephish20 Dude, if being in the Sonic fandom has taught me one thing it's that changing the gameplay style of anything intended to be like an older game in any way will cause nothing but drama from the fanbase
-
@purplephish20 Then your expectations were simply wrong. From the outset of the project, 343 were extremely clear that their objective was to explicitly NOT alter the gameplay or physics of the title in any way. It was always supposed to be "Classic Halo w/ pretty graphics".
Katy Brown likes this. -
@ceruleanspark eeyup, i realised that pretty quickly
-
@redenchilada You were in the sonic fandom? Does thatonepony know about this?????
-
@purplephish20 this comes as a shock to you? I'd've thought my talking about Sonic games all the time would've tipped you off
-
@redenchilada dude, video game discussion is just a given here and applies to everyone
