      1. @bitshift And awful.

        1. @gladosenchilada I simply must draw

          1. @anarchycarcino Draw, then.

            1. @gladosenchilada I shall, surrounding the exploits of today.

              1. @anarchycarcino What exploits?

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:11:03 UTC from web
                1. @gladosenchilada The Broderlands ones.

                2. @gladosenchilada Me, The Mintness, Red, And pon pon.

        2. @gladosenchilada Not really. BBcode has a pretty unpleasant syntax, so as long as the new syntax is modified to not go wrong in the cases where it currently does, I welcome the addition.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:13:56 UTC from web
          1. @bitshift But it ruins * and / and -, tghat are used to give tone to phrases, and that's just stupid. Man each day there's a new thing to make RDN worse.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:15:18 UTC from web
            1. @gladosenchilada Gives tone to phrases, you mean exactly what bbcode is suppose to be used for anyway?

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:16:32 UTC from web
              1. @minti Screw BBcode, that's for fancy stuff, it's dumb for everyday use.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:17:16 UTC from web
                1. @gladosenchilada Wait, so you're against /both/?

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:18:39 UTC from web
                  1. @minti Aww XD

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:18:51 UTC from web
                  2. @minti I'm against symbols as a BBcode shortcut. Because then I can't use the symbols.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:19:39 UTC from web
                    1. @gladosenchilada You'll be able to use the symbols anyway. They're parsed server side, and work on mobile even.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:20:13 UTC from web
                      1. @minti Exactly, server side, so if I for example use * 3 * as an emoricon, I'll just see a 3.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:21:08 UTC from web
                        1. @gladosenchilada Oh sorry, mis-read that. :p Yeah, that's what we're trying to fix, and is honestly the only problem I have with using a RDN Specific flavor of markdown or something.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:22:16 UTC from web
              2. The * implies doing * walking over to the stove *

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:17:44 UTC from web
            2. @gladosenchilada But the formatting they turn into also gives tone to the same phrases? I'm... not really seeing the problem.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:18:15 UTC from web
              1. @bitshift What about actions? Make them double symbols for code, and it will be fine.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:18:51 UTC from web
                1. @gladosenchilada I'm ok with the double symbols for everything idea. This would really solve every possible problem.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:20:18 UTC from web
                  1. @toksyuryel I'm okay with that too.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:21:07 UTC from web
                  2. @gladosenchilada @toksyuryel @widget Yeah, this'd be good. Still more concise than BBcode, but drastically less likely to eat symbols that weren't intended to be formatting.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:22:21 UTC from web
    2. @widget Screw the symbols! They're there to be used, not to format text. That's what [] are for. Make it **//-- for code, instead of */-, and then it won't eat symbols.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 05:23:08 UTC from web
    3. @widget Might it be beneficial to add an extra code to escape all of the formatting within? <<stuff>> for instance?

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 16:37:36 UTC from web
      1. @redenchilada Down with the symbol formatting!

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 16:38:04 UTC from web
        1. @gladosenchilada It's beneficial for phones, but it really needs ways to escape the formatting. Making it an option in the Plus settings would probably help that, plus being able to escape it.

Thursday, 27-Sep-12 16:40:05 UTC from web
          1. @redenchilada Actually that's a great idea. Being able to enable/disable it from the Plus options @widget

            1. @gladosenchilada If not, I can always try to rally a riot from the shadows! :D
