@renovatedkitchen One of those Electronic cigarrettes. They leave you with a proper artifact, so you don't fiddle, but cut back on the things that kill you. You can then manually adjust the dosage of the chemicals you're getting to wean yourself down. Don't go cold turkey, because it won't work.

@ceruleanspark I'm tempted to go cold turkey. I like being hard on myself. The reason for quitting is so that when I join the forces, I won't have any habits.

@renovatedkitchen People who stop cold turkey are more likely to start up again later, because they didn't get the necessary closure to "shut down" the habit properly. It's better in the long run to do it slowly.

@ceruleanspark Mhm. Maybe then. I mean, I wouldn't want to quit, quit. But rather just will stop buying them. Every now and then if I'm offered one I'll have it.

@renovatedkitchen That's how my friend got started smoking. He'd have one to be sociable with his workmates who smoked. (Can't go outside and have a chat on a smoke break if you don't smoke) and now he's hooked.

@abigpony In england at least, e-cigs are a medicine, so not taxed, wheras tobacco products are taxed out the **** to encourage smokers to quit.

@ceruleanspark I started just cause I wanted something to do. I guess it's a tough call. Figure I'll buy my last pack on November 1st and see what happens. Maybe I'll switch to cigars

@ceruleanspark They're both taxed here I think. They're just plain expensive here. It's, like, $20 for 4 or something.
