@broniebrown Glover was awesome!

@omni I just played it a bit. Glover makes a lot of fun. It is not as the usual 3D platformers.

@omni @broniebrown Glover is a very under appreciated game, it was different, it felt kind of like what a sandbox platformer would be, heck you could sit on the edge of a cliff if you wanted to. It wasn't a totally open game, but you could just mess around if you wanted to. I can't say that it was perfect since it had it's flaws, but it still was a great game if you didn't take it too seriously.

@tekkdan Yeah! You can easily see that Glover is very similar to Mario 64. After beating Mario 64 it is the perfect subsitute.

@broniebrown @scribble They were making a Glover 2 that never got finished, it got leaked out on the Internet not too long ago after someone found a beta/alpha cartridge of it. You can look it up if you want, but unfortunately we'll probably never see Glover return in another video game. It's a dang shame too, how can they just drop Glover without even a word as to why?

@tekkdan It is also a shame that Starfox 2 never came out although the game was almost finished. There are some inofficial reproduction cartridges out there but they are very expensive.

@broniebrown When I first played that, I so wanted to get a reproduction cartridge of it, it's so bucking awesome! I loved how you could just run around and activate the switches for the base entrances, they were huge buttons you could jump on, and other stuff that made the game great. I would continue on with this, but I might end up writing a whole page or something like that. XD

@tekkdan You can buy the EPROM for $35 but then you have to sacrifice a game with the FX chip and solder the new eprom into. Of course you can use an emulator but I think it is not the same even if you use a SNES controller adapter.

@broniebrown Eh, to be honest, I would rather just buy a already made cartridge with a half decent looking cartridge label on it. I've already looked it up a while ago, but I don't think I'll do anything about getting one anytime soon though. I just thought it would be awesome to pop it in my SNES and try to rack up highscores and collect those golden coins (if the save memory worked). I still think that they could release it, but it's just that they don't want to, not because their lazy, they just don't want it to see the light of day.

@tekkdan they don't release it for the same reason they don't release mother 3 for gba in north america. The console is outdated.
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 13:28:04 UTC from web-
@techdisk They should of just went ahead and released it instead of going "oh, N64 is gonna confuse people if SF2 comes out, durr" or something along those lines. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but that's a sad excuse not to release an awesome game like that especially when it is literally almost ready to be approved and shipped out. I dunno, I just think that if people are willing to pay for this game, it wouldn't hurt Nintendo in the slightest bit to patch up the rest of the game and put it on the virtual console. (Okay I've got no right to complain here, but that's kinda how I feel about it.)

@tekkdan Because Glover isn't a military shooter which is barely distinguishable from its counterparts. People aren't interested in original games anymore.

@omni Yeah, it's kinda like when Ubisoft made those dumb Raving Rabbids, I enjoyed the first game on the wii when it first came out, but then soon they started taking Rayman out of the picture and then when people would think of Rayman "oh you mean those rabbit things"? No I'm talking about Rayman, you know, the old Rayman games. Thank god they made Rayman Origins, I was thinking that he wouldn't ever get another good platformer at that rate that was going.
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 13:08:21 UTC from web-
@tekkdan i should beat rayman origins at once

@tekkdan It probably didn't achieve the sales needed for a sale. Glover is not a massively popular game, as you don't hear it that often online.

@scribble I remember that they had Glover as one of the games that you could play at GameStop, and that I had it as a game for my playstation when I was in elementary school, other than that, I didn't really know anything about it. You see it occasionally today, but only because it was one of those N64 games that people think of when they think of a good under appreciated game.

@broniebrown At least you didn't get Glover on PlayStation.
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 12:33:02 UTC from web-
@scribble Thats the version I had when I was little, I notice that it wasn't dark and gloomy at the beginning of the game like the 64 version was. I'm still not sure why it's not as liked as the 64 version was...
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 12:36:19 UTC from web-
@tekkdan I think it's one of those games that deserves it's criticism. The N64 version is much better imo, but it's all opinion.

@scribble What is wrong with this port?
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 12:37:21 UTC from Choqok-
@broniebrown I can't remember much of it, but I do remember it was terrible. I think if you look at gameplay videos of it on YouTube, you can see why.
Sunday, 07-Oct-12 12:39:57 UTC from web -
@broniebrown Yeah that's kind of what I'm wondering, they removed and added somethings, but I'm not sure about what the big deal is. I've played both versions, but it's been forever since I've last played the playstation version, so I'm not really sure.
