For some reason, I still seem to have people around me who think "if the restaurant doesn't have any vegetarian meals, just eat meat" is an acceptable thing to tell a vegetarian.

@omni The obvious fix: Eat all that meat.

@omni facehoof

@omni what...the...hell?
-
@anarchycarcino The obvious fix: Choose a better restaurant. I know you like to always troll and can't make a serious reply, but you should consider being more considerate to people who have a different opinion on what is right then you. I'm not telling you to "just marry a guy if you can't find a nice girl in your town" either.
-
@omni Alternatively, eat a lot of salad. Especially if you're with a large group of people who want to go to that restaurant.
-
@omni Maybe I will marry a guy. Stick that on your meatless plate and chew it.
-
@omni Also >You thought I was trolling.
-
@anarchycarcino If you were not trolling when making that reply, then there is seriously something wrong with your reasoning. And I'm not kidding here, you should try to reflect what you just told me and how similar it is to telling people that they should just marry someone from the other gender, even if they love someone from the same gender or that they should just go to church and pray to God, even if they don't believe and don't want to.
-
@omni That fix can depend on the situation. My mom's a vegetarian, and whenever someone in my family picks a restaurant that's not the one vegetarian one in the area, she does her best to dampen the festivities.
-
@omni tl;dr
-
@yodelerty That sounds like a fair enough solution, but I guess I will just e-mail the restaurant to get a bit of info regarding all of that.
-
@anarchycarcino You have no clue how tempted I feel to say "kill yourself", because you're obviously not worthy of a better reply. That will be all for now.
-
@omni He is never not trolling.
-
@toksyuryel Figures why he was already on my block list. Too bad that doesn't extend to the Public Timeline.
-
@omni RDN Plus has a "hide user" box where you can enter a name and it will hide them from public (and everywhere else for that matter)
-
No but really, I'm pretty confused.
-
@toksyuryel I forgot where the settings url for that is, do you know by any chance?
-
@omni click "account" then "RDN Plus"
-
@omni @anarchycarcino Both of you control yourselves.
-
@redenchilada I totally didn't do anything of devious intent!
-
@toksyuryel Perfect, thank you.
-
@omni The only flaw is that unlike blocking, RDN Plus won't keep track of name changes.
-
@toksyuryel That's something I can live with.
-
@toksyuryel I think, assuming the codebase is not wildly altered from its distant parent, RDN Plus will accept a UserID as a block parameter.
-
@ceruleanspark Oh, that would be convenient if that would work.
-
@toksyuryel We used to have a group of problem users who were blocked by basically everyone, but who would change their names near daily to evade peoples filters.
-
@ceruleanspark :O
-
@ceruleanspark I don't remember that.
-
@anarchycarcino Stargazer, Metal and Fluttermoron. I think there was a 4th idiot in their little cadre, spamming the place up with low grade kissy roleplay and generally making horrendous nuisances of themselves.
-
@ceruleanspark Unfortunately, it seems RDN Plus somewhat breaks "in context" (as in, I can't read your stuff easily because a hidden user replied before the post it's linked to) =/ (I guess you can't help it, though, oh well :x)
-
@ceruleanspark Stargazer didn't really change his name but FLutter did. Who's Metal?
-
@anarchycarcino Stargazer changed his name in small ways, dropping the numbers, changing his initials etc. Enough to break this filters.
-
@omni You'd assume if you don't wanna see a user, you also don't wanna see other people talking to them?
-
@ceruleanspark My mind really blanks on most of that since it was ****ing awful. But really, who the Hell is Metal?
-
@redenchilada That's unfortunately not always the way it works out with the in context. Often another discussion will spring up out of a reply and that discussion may not have anything to do with the user being avoided.
-
@redenchilada But that's not what it's doing. It's not hiding stuff to him, it's hiding ALL replies which come after a post of such person. So I have to unhide him several times to see the context of what @ceruleanspark later said to me in the same "discussion" :x
-
@ceruleanspark what was his name?.... Zach something, he was the absolute worst user on this site due to his drama, pretend Trans girlfriend, and :crying: every other minute, rainbowdashsboyfriend was at least fun to watch as his drama unfolded
