      1. @ceruleanspark I haven't seen 1st gen pokemon so far. It is the fact that you have to catch pokemon in a trainer fight and that these pokemon are "shadow pokemon" with a weird status effect.

        1. @broniebrown The weird thing about it is that they went to the lengths necessary to make a 3D pokemon game and then didn't actually make the 3D pokemon game literally everyone wanted.

            1. @broniebrown I am not convinced that it would. Turn based to realtime transitions hardly ever work well. The best balance from my point of view would be something like Square's ATB system.

                1. @caberea Yeah, but they weren't trying to move from a very rigid turn based structure into a real time one. They were designed to work in real time in the first place.

                  1. @ceruleanspark I'm imagining that it could work, having an your abilities assigned to 4 keys, which would translate well to Console controllers. The only problem i can see is implementing dodging mechanics, since if attacks lock on there's not much of a point of it being turn based. They could use cooldowns for short cooldowns per ability to ensure that it isn't a spamfest as well.
