You guys miss me? I thought not.

@fialvert Howdy friend, haven't met you before. How are you?
-
@noirbatch Good, a little tired.
-
@fialvert hello
-
@fialvert Didn't sleep well? Or about to go to bed?
-
@fialvert Also in this place your audience is either foreign or too young to vote, so there's that too.
-
@fialvert Well starting a conversation about politics? That sounds like fun?
-
@ceruleanspark I'm too young myself (18 next year), but I have clear-cut views on certain issues. I'd link my insane Tumblr but no one would care.
-
@fialvert I would.
-
@hakupony Well it's on my profile. Since I seem to forget these things.
-
@noirbatch On some planet, maybe.
-
@fialvert Is it SFW?
-
@noirbatch I like conversations about politics, but RDN doesn't like me have it here xD
-
@hakupony Sort of. There's excessive swearing, as I put on an extreme persona purely for that Tumblr. insert something about trigger warnings, though I don't care about that garbage.
-
@fialvert As long as it's no porn, it's good enough for me. I'm in a lecture after all xD
-
@fialvert Hehe I am glad you are so passionate about it, but for me it just falls on deaf ears. Apparently, understanding where someone's opinion comes from and is okay with that opinion...... Is frowned upon? lol
-
@fialvert I'm guessing (if you are brave enough to air them here) that said views are not those espoused by Senator Romney.
-
@ceruleanspark Muh Gary Johnson.
-
@hakupony Yeah I just always get booted from any conversation irl or on the internet. I tend to like to hear other people's opinions lol
-
@noirbatch Basically if someone doesn't have the 'right' opinion, people don't like that. I'm not like that, except in cases of socialism.
-
@fialvert Not a fan of socialism?
-
@fialvert Hehe, we might not get along that well xD
-
@noirbatch Bleh. Basically that whole sort of thing is what I'm opposed to. I'm not an egalitarian, either. I'm not one to support to the idea of false equality measures.
-
@hakupony Eh, I can see where people can have contrary views, I won't attack you for it. UNLESS YOU'RE A DIRTY COMMUNIST.
-
@fialvert Understandable. I find that a lot of these systems look great on paper, but not very well when Applied to reality.
-
@fialvert No worries, I'm a rather clean communist. Or not. Depends on how you define communism.

@fialvert Is it bad that, the fact that you appear to be from America, makes me think you're not even joking?
The white void likes this. -
@omni No. I don't like communism, and it's not just because I'm American. It has never been successful in practice. You can promise whatever you want on paper. People are naturally corrupt and greedy. (Yet I still claim to be an optimist).
-
@hakupony I'd need to find my notes that don't exist.
-
@fialvert The fact that humans are greedy doesn't mean that communism (or socialism? I always mess those up still) is necessarily a bad system. Every system has that problem, so it's unfair to blame it on the communistic system, as the democratic system has it just as badly.
Bit Shift likes this. -
@fialvert The thing is that it never was sucessful because the countries where it was applied to were nt in the right condition to make communism work. You first need the infrastructure to produce goods and Capitalism makes you get this infrastructure to produce wealth. And no, I don't make this up, this is what Karl Marx wrote in the first place.
-
@omni It is a bad system. It's as bad as legitimately believing that world peace could be a reality. You cannot break human nature. It is in our nature to destroy ourselves. I do not believe that one can be wholly altruistuic, nor that humans, as a whole, are equal. (Not that groups should be punished for being 'lesser' than another).
-
@fialvert Human nature? I doubt there is such a thing. There were cultures where you did have a sort of proto-communism, there were cultures who didn't develop weapons but built huge cities. There is no human nature, there is just culture.
-
@hakupony There are elements, not necessarily cultural, that one can find in every society. I find it a bit hard to believe that each society happened to develop in one similar vein, and there's no underlying reason for it.
-
Note to self: When there is both a Windows and Linux system involved in a system issue, doubt the Windows system first. The reason my Android phone couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi wasn't because I broke something, but simply because the Wi-Fi tethering process in Windows locked up and needed to be restarted. What a nice waste of several hours...
-
@fialvert There is a reason why people fight each other: because the cultures which developed that way can beat up those who didn't. And why did they develop that way? Because they didn't communicate with the people from the more peacefull countries. And what things developed the same way at every place?
-
@omni If a windows box is involved always /always/ always reboot. 80% of problems will be solved on the spot.
The white void likes this. -
@ceruleanspark I should've done that, but I thought that I was being an insane Linux fanboy and always blaming Windows for everything so I decided to see if it was a Linux-based system messing up again. I should've rebooted Windows first anyway, though... :x
-
@omni I like you as the insane linux fanboy you are :)
-
@omni my windows box locks up every single time i try to use USB tethering. everything having to do with networking just hangs. The moment i disconnect the USB wire to my phone, it stops hanging and fixes itself.
-
@ceruleanspark It bothers me that this is pretty much true, because when something's wrong, I want to know what's wrong. Rebooting solves things without me getting that satisfaction.
