@yodelerty looks at Linux software stores How am I even going to spend $699 dollar on Software? o-o
-
@yodelerty I wish
-
@omni There just isn't enough commercial software for Linux for it to even be a problem.
-
@dusty If I won the lottery I'd buy like 12 copies of Photoshop just because I can.
-
@yodelerty I still have to find a paid video editor here. I only know free ones. This whole Linux ecosystem is weird. Just look at the difference between Microsoft and Apple talking about "For only ??? dollar, you can have our product!" and Canonical going like: "PLEASE USE UBUNTU HERE HAVE 5GB FREE CLOUD STORAGE PLEEEAAASSEEE"
-
@omni Well, MS and Apple both give you X gig of cloud storage too. Skydrive and iCloud.
-
@omni I was sure Microsoft and Apple gave you a bunch of free storage space.
-
@ceruleanspark @omni Yeah, that.
-
@ceruleanspark Well, yes, but for having an account with them and not for using an Operating System (and the Operating System from Canonical is still free). I was talking about Microsoft and Apple really selling it, and Canonical just giving it away so they can get advertising money. I get your point, though, but I don't know of anything else Canonical really gives users :(
-
@omni Slightly sketchy comments about having root access, apparently.
-
@ceruleanspark He later said he meant to say that he meant that users trust Ubuntu updates to not be malicious. It was a very poor choice of words, though, yeah.
