    2. @rancidrob Linux gamer here! If you have any ga... Oh, who am I kidding, we don't have a lot of good games on Linux yet, so the possibility is quite small...

      1. @omni never knew anyone even had linux still

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:43:52 UTC from web
        1. @electroidfire I've been using it daily as my main machine for a few years now. I'm not really regretting it, I like this whole ecosystem and the Humble Bundles allow you to get good, cross-platforms games for a low price. I'm listening through the soundtrack now, and I think I'm going to play Machinarium later :3

          1. @omni well im more a Windows guy since im not really into linuc that much since theres not that much on it to play/use video editing software 4 youtube

            1. @electroidfire Well, yeah, the amount of games we have is a bit small and the amount of professional video editors as well. At least we've got a few decent free video editors like PiTiVi, OpenShot and KDenLive. I personally don't know of any free Windows video editor besides Windows Movie Maker.

              1. @omni there are quite a few but most of them aint good,if linux gets sony vegas and adobe after effects, then ill go to the linux herd

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:50:40 UTC from web
                1. @electroidfire Well, I agree that they don't match the level of Sony Vegas or Adobe Aftereffects, yeah, but they seem to be good enough for basic video editing. Then again, I must admit that I know very little about it since, with only 2GB of RAM, I don't really do a lot of video editing.

                  1. @omni well linux is great for regular internet/desktop use.but since i like doing youtube videos,im just gonna wait and see if linux becomes as popular on PC like it is on smartphones

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:52:56 UTC from web
                    1. @electroidfire It probably won't, even with Steam being on it now (limited beta). But oh well, it works fine for me so yeah. I do agree, for video editing, it's not really all that awesome yet :P

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:54:51 UTC from web
                      1. @omni well if linux just had a more programs to use without having wine to run it,itll be great to me

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:57:17 UTC from web
                        1. @electroidfire We're getting there, slowly and surely. We already have Steam, which is a great thing, so it's just a matter of time for it to become a more useful desktop platform :P

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:57:48 UTC from web
                          1. @omni well i just think linux really needs to get its game on with editing since it can be very powerful

Friday, 09-Nov-12 18:59:02 UTC from web
                          2. @omni It's always been a more useful desktop platform. Games are the only real thing holding most people back anymore. Those don't make a system more useful, just more popular.

                            1. @toksyuryel Video editing is still somewhat behind, and audio editing as well I suppose. It's just a matter of popularity at this point, yeah. More popularity will bring more software which will fix this issue as well.

                                1. @electroidfire Most definitely. A lot of people don't even know there is more than Windows and Mac. I must comment on the "freeware OS" thing, though, as there are distributions which cost money.

                                  1. @omni well most of the linux os is freeware like ubuntu and linux mint and Zorin OS

                                    1. @electroidfire True, most are. I also see a lot of users mentioning Zorin OS nowadays. Wonder how that got so popular :P
