    1. @omni Hey omni, what Linux OS you use?

      1. @electroidfire I'm running Arch Linux myself, but I wouldn't recommend that to anyone who doesn't mind tweaking around for hours on end and doesn't have a fair amount of experience with Linux already :P

          1. @electroidfire It's the only thing I can do reasonably well so, in other to not feel completely useless, I just waste my time with that.

              1. @electroidfire If you are willing to put enough time into it, Arch will be a pretty respectable choice. Gentoo is really the best choice if you want to know everything and have total control, but its learning curve is terribly steep (I haven't managed to install it correctly). Well, here is your manual. Good luck: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide

                  1. @electroidfire Mint is a good choice for beginners, yes. Mint was my second distribution, and I only left it because one moment I decided this was too... pre-set for me. But yeah, you can't really go wrong with Mint as a new user.

                      1. @electroidfire Minecraft actually runs on Linux, as it's written in Java.

                          1. @electroidfire I hear that more often, but it really is. You'll have to install a Java environment though and, unlike on Windows, we have multiple of those on Linux so that's confusing as hell. I would go to the software repositories and install anything Java which looks good, as I unfortunately don't know which one you need to run it. One important thing is to right-click the minecraft.jar file and mark it as an executable :P

                              1. @electroidfire That's what I did for quite some years, and then I tried Linux (SUSE Linux 9.1, really old), found it stupid and went back to Windows. Years later, I gave Linux another try and now I'm stuck on it :P At any rate, you could always try Linux Mint in a virtual machine (like VirtualBox) to see how you like you if you don't want to really install it. But hey, do what you want, I'm not your mother :P

        2. @omni Well, that was a grammatical disaster. I hope the message was still clear, though :x
