          @madflavors Save before fighting him, copy the savegame. If it doesn't drop it, then load it again and try. Then after the drake, in the tower, get the black knight shield. The greatsword is useless that early fue to requirements, and by the time you can equip it you can already use Artorias'

                    @gladosenchilada you know i don't use the heavy attack as often as I should, my plan usually consists of "bad guys? mash R1 bigger bad guys mash R1 really hard"

                      @madflavors It depends on the weapon. Sometimes, staggering the enemy and hitting it with a two-handed heavy attack can eat more than half their HP bar.

            @noirbatch The +5 Lightning Zweihander is a really good option too. Also the Balder Sword. I haven't found a Balder Shield yet.
