Well, switching from the binary nvidia to the open-source nouveau drivers went reasonably well, except from the fact that I lost the ability to choose a resolution higher than 1024x768. Ugh, I always screw stuff up :(

@omni Why not use the Nvidia ones?

@nerthos Because proprietary and closed-source and all that jazz, together with wanting to see how far I can come going completely libre for a while. You know the drill.

@omni "xrandr -s 1360x768" works, and HOLY COW THIS LOOKS SO SHARP IT'S LIKE IT'S TRYING TO BURN RIGHT INTO MY EYES OH HOW BEAUTIFUL

@nerthos How am I intolerant of other views? I'm pretty sure I'm not yelling at anyone using the NVIDIA driver, but I do think I should be allowed to choose what I do or do not run myself.

@omni No, I didn't say you were intolerant. You can be a zealot and keep to yourself, like I do.

@nerthos Well, I need to talk about SOMETHING or I'll have to be quiet all day long and can you imagine me being quiet all day long? Like, duh! Boring!
