    1. @retl Cell phones are too mainstream.

      1. @redenchilada ? I dunno. Do you really want to revert to using pay-boxes on the side of roads after an accident?

        1. @retl I can't answer that as I'm not driving yet, thus I don't think about that stuff.

          1. @redenchilada I have my leaner's permit, but I'm quite distrusting of cars. The few accidents I've been in and seen are enough for me. I definitely don't want to participate in one while driving. I don't really want to drive at all, but my family insists that I can not live my life without it.

            1. @retl Heh. I'm much the same. Proved them wrong for many years, even. I put a few thousand miles on my bicycle, and only finally bothered getting a car, what, last year.

              1. @starshine Nice! I don't feel quite as much of an oddball now. That, and I should probably get a new bike and learn to ride it.

    2. @retl And you don't? D:

      1. @communistprime I can't justify an increased monthly fee. I'd rather stick to my old one and get a new netbook or web-tablet or something.

        1. @retl I don't pay for my plan, so I don't mind. But I'm good with a simple phone, don't need no Android or iPhone! YEAH!

          1. @communistprime I'd be cool with an Android or something if it let's me use Wi-Fi and never get a data plan. But most of the phones that have that kind of capacity tend to only sell cheap as part of a 2-year contract with a ridiculous early-termination fee.

            1. @retl You could probably find a used last-gen one really cheap. They still work perfectly fine.

              1. @starshine Never really tried that before. Sounds neat though. I had considered getting an older use iPod Touch and carrying that in addition to my phone, but then another friend of mine who has an ithingy said I shouldn't do that because stuff wasn't going to work on it, so I was like D: okay not going to waste the money then.
