@juicyorange Yeah, it's not like you have to or anything, I just like to use it.

-
@astah welcome to RDN! where the rules are made up and your opinion dosen't matter!
-
@astah and I am happy that you are a part of this community! So, conversation?
-
@muttstuffle sure conversation! Just researching at the library until I go do some tutoring in an hour.
-
@astah ah, I see, study is good for the brain, and in turn smarticle particles. What pray tell, are you researching?
-
@muttstuffle Being at the moment jobless (so much for that Master's degree helping :p ) I spend my days doing independent research/study for a new manuscript of writing I'm working on, which I could elaborate on but it would probably be 20% less cool to do so
-
@astah huh, interesting. You never know, it could still sound cool, what did you get your masters in?
-
@muttstuffle Univ. of Southern California '08 in English, minor in French. UNLV Master's in Fine Arts in Poetry/Creative Writing. Thus, the lack of jobs. Hyuck. I take it with a good sense of humor, don't worry. I'm currently working on a manuscript based on eco-poetics (an exploration of the writer's relationship with "where" they are. it's not tree-hugging, so to speak. You could do an eco-poem in Manhattan.) based on history/geography/autobiography of Salt Lake City and Utah in general. It's a strange place to be.
-
@muttstuffle when I'm not busy substitute teaching to pay the bills, that is.
-
@astah so one might say that you have the skills to pay the bills?
-
@astah Please be my teacher, I want a brony teacher ;_;
-
@astah Ah, nice, I myself am a bit of a programmer, I'm currently learning java and I am an extremely talented orator/writer. Both for me are pretty enjoyable, programming is interesting and writing is fun, it works! Combined with the fact that I like teaching as well, I could either be a programmer, a writer, a teacher, or all three. Only time will tell.
-
@camero719 There was an interesting little psyche study I saw. Two psychologists did a survey of over 25,000 bronies (based on personality etc.) and compared it to a control group. The study was focused on the fact that it was a unique opportunity to observe a fandom/community in its genesis as opposed to years after its formation. I forget how I found it on the web but it's a curious read. The results (so far, they are still continuing research) are that bronies are, more or less, just nicer people. Who'da thunk it?
-
@astah *raises hand* I would, being one and all :P
-
@astah I saw another study that gave similar resaults, it might be the same one, was it by any chance called bronystudy?
-
@muttstuffle ah! my first roommate was a computer science student. I think he's programming for neopets and performing in a sketch comedy group.
-
@astah nice, I am a bit of a comedian myself, who knows, maybe him and I would get along?
-
@muttstuffle I thiiiiink so. Aside from some typos the study was clear and thought out. I think they could expand it a little bit more and make it more detailed, but it's just nice to have that to show people, especially since most people's reactions (at least most people I know) are "you watch a show for girls? murdock."
-
@astah Generated Response 1 to bias based on past versions of the show: "Clearly you are new here, hello! I am from the internet, and this is the internet, enjoy your stay."
-
@camero719 are you a student now? no brony teachers? (or at least none that are out of the closet?)
-
@astah I am a student, no brony teacher because my teachers are girls (They may be closet Pegasisters though, prob not)
-
@camero719 ha! pegasisters... hadn't heard that one yet...
-
@astah Havn't heard of pegasisters?Wow
-
@camero719 honestly, this is the first chance I've had to talk to ANYone who actually is a fan of the show... i.e. anyone who I am not introducing to it. None of my friends/family/etc. watch it or are aware of it except as an internet phenomenon. Even though some of them are aware of Lauren Faust and have liked her other shows
-
@astah well, it's a good thing you got this chance then, isn't it?
-
@derpy128 I have the skills. It's the opportunities I'm looking for... :C
-
@astah Ah, I got yeah, yeah pegasisters are the female equivalent of bronys, though most girl fans just prefer brony
-
@muttstuffle absolutely. I'll have to be sure to log back in to RDN then tomorrow while I'm doing another day of research and reading. is there a ways to friend on this? i've literally been signed up to this website for 40 minutes now... so i'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly people were willing to chat and make nice.
