So I hear Tinker is helping people to start a new bronycon in New York because she's upset that Bronycon isn't in New York anymore. Seems legit.

@abigpony Remember when we had one or two pony cons instead of twenty-something?
-
@abigpony They've apparently already got Tara Strong lined up.
-
@redenchilada No. It kind of went from 1 to 50 over the course of a week or two.
-
@redenchilada Yeah remember when there weren't any local to you and you had to spend thousands of dollars traveling across the country if you wanted to go to one and were extremely lucky to even get in? Wasn't that so much better?
-
@toksyuryel Well Tinker and all the higher-ups in the community talk to the VAs and stuff on a regular basis so I'd only expect it.
-
@toksyuryel I'm just saying after a certain point, the amount just seems ridiculous. It's nice to have options, but our state already has three conventions lined up within a two hour drive of each other and it's a bit ridiculous.
-
@redenchilada If there's a demand, there will be a supply. And we're a very big fandom now.
-
@toksyuryel I thought it was better. Though to be fair, a good 4 or so would be fine. Ones in major epicenters like SoCal, Texas, New York and Washington or Florida.
-
@toksyuryel But after a certain point it becomes oversaturated and people will begin to have reservations about supporting yet another pony convention.
-
@abigpony This sounds pathetic. She should organise a con over here in Europe to get the original VAs here.
-
@broniebrown No, it just makes conventions in NewYork because "she has pride in her city" or something stupid like that and it acts like it lives a hard life and is screwed over at every turn and blah blah blah and Tinker doesn't live in Europe so there's no reason it'd set anything up there. There are a few Eu Cons going, though. They get the EU VAs and stuff.
-
@redenchilada This is snake coronal can you hear me ?
-
@redenchilada People will support their local convention(s).
-
Can we make transphobic language like this against the rules if it isn't already? It's just as bad as homophobic language which I'm pretty sure is not tolerated here.
Flare Dancer (Jenna) likes this. -
@toksyuryel Transphobic language? Where?
-
@nerthos Calling her an "it", regardless of what your opinion of her as a person might be, is totally unacceptable.
-
@toksyuryel It's like your upset when I'm not being transphobic. Why would I be afraid of them?
-
@toksyuryel I use it too. There's a genderless option, yeah, something along the lines of "e/er/e's" but barely anyone knows about it. It's an issue that can't be solved. Calling it a he will upset some, a she will upset others. It being genderless is the closest to a mid term.
-
@abigpony I know that she wouldn't. Only if the orinal VAs were on a EU con I'd consider to go to a con. The VAs from the dubs do not interest me.
-
@broniebrown I dunno what to tell you. Plane tickets cost a lot.
-
@nerthos She is a she, that's what you call her. Only people who are transphobic would be upset by calling her that and there is no reason at all to make concessions to the likes of them.
-
@toksyuryel I have nothing about trasgenders, but I will not call someone a she as long as he/she/it has Y chromosomes. This discussion is pretty pointless though, and now it's not the time to bring it to the timeline. If you want to discuss this, I'll be glad to do so over Skype or something like that, where I'm sure we can get to an agreement. Here only pointless drama would ensue.
-
@abigpony Yeah. The time and money isn't worth it.
-
@broniebrown That depends who you talk to about it.
-
@abigpony I'm a fan of the show but dedicating all my money and time for one event is a bit too much for me. I'm not that rabid.
-
@broniebrown precisely my good fellow.
-
@abigpony :D This doesn't mean I wouldn't fly over there if I were given a cherriesload of money to be a guest there.
-
@broniebrown who wouldn't?
-
@abigpony That's true.
