  1. I can't decide. Budget allows for ONE of the following: a second video card so that I can run it on high graphics smoothly; a 3rd screen for better immersion or 8gb more ram for better overall

    1. @renovatedkitchen Either the video card or the RAM.

      1. @yolodelerty but the feeling of 3 screens is so amazing

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:48:25 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
        1. @renovatedkitchen I can't even afford two screens

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:49:04 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
          1. @yolodelerty I took the second screen from my Xbox (a HDMI computer screen with headphones)

            1. @renovatedkitchen Cooool

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:52:09 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
              1. @yolodelerty not really. I can't afford it either (bills and debt to pay off), but I'm antsy about practicing as early as possible to do better later

                1. @renovatedkitchen Practicing what?

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:56:02 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                  1. @yolodelerty smooth banking, take off and landing

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:57:05 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                    1. @renovatedkitchen Ah, so this game you're talking about is a simulator?

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:59:20 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                      1. @yolodelerty yup. It's the exact same simulator software used to train commercial pilots.

                        1. @renovatedkitchen Sounds cool, actually.

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 05:03:06 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                          1. @yolodelerty so far it's been amazing. Graphics wise and all. You can go further than anti-aliasing and set it to multiple HDR rendering. It's really cool. You can use real time weather and almost every part of the globe has been mapped out on it

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 05:05:05 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                            1. @renovatedkitchen Goddamn. How big is the game?

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 05:05:51 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                              1. @yolodelerty 8 dual layer DVD's. http://ur1.ca/cj1qu

                                1. @renovatedkitchen 8 *dual layer* DVDs? Holy crap, and I thought WoW/GW2 were big.

                                  1. @minti hehe. Yeah. But the game is amazing. Graphics wise and all. The iPhone camera doesn't do it much justice, but.. http://ur1.ca/cj1r4

                                    1. @renovatedkitchen Mmm, that is pretty good. Post a screenshot so we can see without iPhone camera-crappage :p

                                      1. @minti computer is off now but I'll post one tomorrow and link you. If I don't run the external fan on the case, it radiates loads of heat and the external fan screams

                                        1. @renovatedkitchen Do it, I want to see pretty things.

                                          1. @minti I will. They have a demo video on their site http://www.x-plane.com/desktop/home/ if you are interested in seeing some of the detail

                                              1. @minti lemme know what you think of it. It's the first time I've seen "HDR" as an option on a game to give even better graphics than anti-aliasing

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 05:24:39 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                                1. @renovatedkitchen Lol, HDR isn't new but it's mostly used for non-realtime rendering IIRC. I'm surprised it's an option.

                                                  1. @minti I know it's not new, but it's the first time I've seen it as an option. It choked my video card to no end on full. (Love their graphics settings. "Low" "medium" "high" "extreme (will melt your GPU") and things like that

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 05:26:59 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                          2. @minti I can't wait to fly through the Rocky Mountains or someplace like that

                                  2. @minti hehe. Yeah. But the game is amazing. Graphics wise and all. The iPhone camera doesn't do it much justice, but.. http://ur1.ca/cj1r6

    2. @renovatedkitchen how much memory do you have at the moment?

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:47:23 UTC from web
      1. @unhipdruid 8gb. BUT this isn't your average game. It's x-Plane 10. You can enable HDR and go way over 16xAA
