@crusader8 Hey, I'm guessing, that post in no way illustrates my opinions. The lesser pony is without doubt the yellow one.

@widget sadly, no.

@widget would you mind if I wrote a little script that performs a dictionary attack on all accounts?
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:29:31 UTC from web-
@kamikaze Do you even need to ask?
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:30:16 UTC from web -
@kamikaze There's actually a handful of accounts that no amount of password cracking on RDN would let you into, for the simple fact that they don't even have a password at all.

@widget I read that as buffering

@widget Yoda feels a disturbance in the force.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:30:27 UTC from web -
@widget Awww. I could mail everypony a random generated safe password. I'd be performing a public service.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:30:43 UTC from web-
@kamikaze An impossible to remember randomly generated password.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:31:21 UTC from web-
@nerthos I don't even try. I have more than 50 different passwords, all random generated.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:32:24 UTC from web-
@kamikaze You need to write them down for that. If I just wrote down a line of characters that makes no sense, it would totally be suspicious.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:34:09 UTC from web-
@nerthos Don't be ridiculous, I could never type them without making a mistake. I copy'n'paste my passwords.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:36:07 UTC from web-
@kamikaze I literally don't store any password that I don't want to be public in my computer/pen drives.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:37:37 UTC from web-
@nerthos I treat my computer as a safe system. The advantage is of having nigh unbreakable passwords and breaking one doesn't give access to any other service, because they all have different keys.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:39:54 UTC from web-
@kamikaze I simply store all sensitive information in computers that never connect to the internet.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:43:53 UTC from web-
@nerthos Impractical.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:45:40 UTC from web-
@kamikaze Any computer connected to the internet is by definition inseure.

@widget WTF, they're not salted and hashed? I knew to do that 15 years ago!
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:34:56 UTC from web -
@widget So it has to salt and hash for every single account/password to check? That's basically a dictionary attack with a very small dictionary.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:37:37 UTC from web -
@widget If they use yellow pone as their password they totes deserve to get their accounts stolen.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:39:00 UTC from web -
@widget I thought you liked Fluttershy
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:40:57 UTC from web -
@widget Heh, I would have never guessed you were colorblind.

@widget I have confusion Everything makes sense
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:42:26 UTC from web -
@widget I'm more of a cyan and purple pones guy.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:42:54 UTC from web -
@widget Hmm, id as salt … well I suppose it works. I'd use random numbers that get regenerated with every password change. But the weak link is md5.
Friday, 18-Jan-13 06:44:41 UTC from web -
@widget Yep, it's just a principles thing.
