@eqdpony Huh, interesting. I honestly though they were just going to go with 13 episode seasons from here on. I wonder what changed to cause Hasbro to deviate so strongly from their usual strategy?

@mushi Well, let's not be too hasty. There've been some definite struggles with this season, so it remains to be seen if they can get the momentum back for another full 26 episode run.

@toksyuryel Well, the stated reason for the short season was that it was due to not needing the additional "advertising" to shift the same number of toys as a 26 episode season, so at a guess, either because of the new princess-twilight toyline, or because it just didn't work out for them. This hypothesis could be proven by examining what the similarly positioned Transformers series/toyline is doing.
