@abigpony Nothing's perfect. But anything that fosters community is a good thing. Having ponies on the site who talk only to their local friends is preferable to not having those ponies here at all. :)

@abigpony Well that's a shame, this website is pretty nice. Well I intend to stay as long as I have an infinite supply of bronies to talk and ramble to.

@abigpony ... this is why I wanted to make a separate forum for meetups. This layout just isn't conducive to organizing them sanely.

@abigpony meetup.com sucks because you have to pay them money to register a group. Also it's a terrible site and very hard to find a group.

@abigpony What do I type to search for a pony meetup group? "My Little Pony"? "Ponies"? And it refuses to search for just any group, you have to type a city, so I basically have to guess at what cities MIGHT have a relevant group. And then, you can't actually look at group content unless you sign up for the site. And yes, you do have to pay them to make a meetup group.

@delc17 Derr. I know about that, and the fact that another site had to be created just to find meetup groups underscores why meetup.com is such a non-solution.
