I need to get overgrown tombs for my golgari deck
Monday, 25-Mar-13 17:16:16 UTC from web-
@epicrainbowdashfan MTG player ? I must admit that I really miss my colourless artifacts, especially equipment, the Golgari Scavenge mechanic seems weak and shallow compared to the prospect of 4 Syndic of Tithes and a bunch of equipment on the field.
-
@critialcloudkicker Eh, it all dies to Worldfire
-
@critialcloudkicker the only scavenge I run is 4 slitherheads and 1 deadbridge goliath
-
@critialcloudkicker Corpsejack menace + Scavenge = game over
-
@scoot Dies to Worldfire
-
@ceruleanspark Worldfire dies to Counterspell
-
@ceruleanspark Next thing you know you are playing EDH with friends every fridaynight and one of your less equal-upper playstyle friends builds a Worldfire-shock deck he plays with all the time, Only being answered by me going to play all out Kithkin weeniestomp W+G deck with a healthy mix of control and equipment, Can you guess who my commander will be ?
-
@scoot Counterspell dies to more Worldfires.
-
@ceruleanspark I can literally counter every Worldfire
-
@scoot Dies to Emrakul
-
@ceruleanspark everything dies to emrakul
-
@ceruleanspark What DOESN'T
-
@scoot Progenitus would just come back to life
-
@scoot global effects, ie Damnnation, Supreme Verdict, etc
-
@epicrainbowdashfan But Emrakul gets you that free turn when he hits the field. Unless you can cast those at instant speed you LOSE.
-
@scoot Oblivion ring for removal, Manabarbs to restrain your enemy from casting at all.
-
@ceruleanspark Progenitus has protection from Emrakul
-
@critialcloudkicker But Emrakul has protection from all colours, he cannot be O-ringed
-
@scoot Colored spells only
-
@critialcloudkicker oblivion ring is a colored spell, emrakul gets around cards like that since it targets, damnation doesn't target, so emrakul doesn't get around
-
@critialcloudkicker Oblivion ring is a coloured spell
-
@scoot I think I should slap some judges
-
@critialcloudkicker Actually I apologise. You're right, You can O-Ring Emrakul, since O-Ring doesn't activate until it is a permanent
-
@scoot o-ring targets, emrakul says he can't be targetted by colored spells
-
@epicrainbowdashfan @scoot Yay for rules
-
@epicrainbowdashfan He can't, but he can targeted by coloured PERMANENTS. It's not a spell anymore when it's on the field. You cannot Go for the throat on him but you CAN steal him with Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
-
@scoot I wonder what happens if you use Amrou Scout to call Bound in Silence on Emrakul
-
@scoot I'm looking at his effect right now, says Flying, protection from colored spells, which means no o-ring, no nicol bolas planeswalker, vraska the unseen, etc
-
@critialcloudkicker That is a tough one. Since it enters the battlefield without ever being a spell and is instantly a permanent I believe that works.
-
@epicrainbowdashfan You are wrong, look it up. Literally google search "Emrakul Oblivion Ring" he is not protected from Permanents. He is only protected from spells, aka anything you play from your hand that is not on the field yet.
-
@epicrainbowdashfan Trick question, my enemy gets sacs all his creatures to summon Emrakul. and now it is my turn, I play Magus of the Abyss. What happens when I end my turn ?
-
@critialcloudkicker well in that case emmy's dead if its his only creature
-
@epicrainbowdashfan Exactly. Which means he was killed by a coloured permanent. See?
-
@scoot ok ok, I get it, when I see my friend tomorrow, I'll tell him the sad news
-
@epicrainbowdashfan Alrighty! Sorry if I was hammering it home a little but you didn't seem to get it at first
-
@scoot Yay I feel helpfull, in a way :)
-
@scoot and what is it with british ppl and having a "u" in colored?
-
@epicrainbowdashfan I'm spelling it correctly. What is it with Americans and dropping the U in colour? It was always spelt colour with a U until America messed with it.
-
@scoot according to the dictionary I'm spelling it right
-
@epicrainbowdashfan According to which Dictionary? The American English Dictionary? My Oxford English Dictionary says "colour" is correct.
-
@scoot Webster
-
@scoot its not that I mind that spelling, its just that cause I'm american I'm used to it without the U
-
@epicrainbowdashfan I was defensive because you implied I was spelling it weirdly, when the American spelling is the weird one, historically.
-
@scoot where do you live that your books talk to you? Mine doesn't say anything; I have to read it.
-
@publictimeline I have magic speaky books
-
@scoot Methinks you've read one too many Harry Potter books
