@critialcloudkicker Wanna know what I predict if the PS4 does support used games but the XboX720 does not ? I predict that all the money hungry companies, and all the companies who once spoke negative of used games and/or piracy, and at least some of the ones who once pushed out a tripple A title will all embrace the idea that used games can not be played on the XboX720. Why ? The negative effect of that will surely mean that there will be less XboX720's out there right ? Yes, agreed, but if you try to cater mostly to the people who fell in love one way or another with Master Chief, and/or never actually buy used games in the first place you will still have a firm base of support. If you get the upper hand with developers backing your idea simply because "If someone buys a used game you, as the developer, will not see any of that money, then afterwards it might be sold yet again" Things will become quite scary for the consumer indeed.

@critialcloudkicker As far as I am aware there is but only 1 thing that really crashes a market, and that is when consumers lose the faith they have in a line of product. If I use my previous thoughts as an example where a lot of developers back the console that blocks used games, then what happens if at one point the consumers at one point start to feel gypsed for one or another reason ( oh, I dunno, another Prothean partymember in Mass Effect 3 and simmilar things might sap faith from the consumer considerably ). Sadly when it comes down to big names such as Mass Effect the "need" people have to buy the game is stronger than the feeling you are getting ripped off. So the consumers in the end will have the short hand of the stick. However... Indie dev's will probably not really like the "no used games" if that means they will make a smaller name for themselves and they are actually looking to grow bigger... These are interesting times coming on

@critialcloudkicker More critically I'd say it's a battle between Microsoft making indie development accessible whilst going out of their way to actively antagonize people who do it vs Sonys complete and total apathy towards indie devs.

@ceruleanspark In the end I think that a LOT of indie dev's who are currently not already working exclusively for one of the mayor console companies ( Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony ) might actually rethink their strategy and go make indie games for the Computer. If by whatever twist of fate both Sony/PS4 and Microsoft/XboX720 both actively ban used game resale, and it becomes a battle/race over who gets to win over A AA and AAA devteams on their side ( like a fudgestorm console throwing bonanza ) I see a whole lot of Indies embrace the idea of developing on the computer instead of a console. But alas this fight has yet to start. And I really hope that A> Consoles do not die, even if I do not see eye to eye with them, competition in the market is always a good thing B> fanboys although obnoxious can be fun to watch C> going through the market with a magnefying glass is a fun thing to do D> I might be swayed to actually buy a console once if the price is right.
